GRODAN presents the GroSens® HandHeld, a new wireless measuring instrument.
Time for innovation
The horticulture sector is changing fast. Growers are facing new challenges and
in the current growing climate there is a clear need for innovative solutions
within the sector. When GRODAN asked its customers which challenges needed to
be tackled in order to achieve precision irrigation, it soon became clear that
there was a need to measure WC and EC more accurately and at more locations in
the greenhouse.
Thinking in solutions
In addition to the successfully presented GroSens Multisensor system, GRODAN introduces
the GroSens HandHeld meter. The meter makes it easy to gain up-to-date insight
into the development of the practised irrigation strategy.
The GroSens HandHeld gives
direct insight into the water content (WC), the EC and the temperature of the
stone wool substrate. With the multi-measurement facility, different places in
the greenhouse can be measured. It is then simple to read out the WC and EC
averages. The meter also has a logging function that enables the WC and EC
values to be recorded over a certain time period. This information can then be
read out on a PC in graphic form in a simple Excel spreadsheet. The GroSens
HandHeld quickly provides valuable information that gives guidance in
optimising irrigation strategy, allowing growers to improve the yield and
quality of their crops. The GroSens HandHeld can also be adapted to a GroSens
MultiSensor measuring system at a later stage.
With this innovative solution
and in combination with stone wool substrates and advice from GRODAN, the
GroSens system enables growers to optimise their production and save on costs.
