The purchase of sour cherries is slowly ending. This year's season was very bad for fruit farmers. The demand for sour cherries was smaller than in previous years and as a result prices were also low. In south of Poland 40 % fruits remained on trees. more ::.

The purchase prices of sour cherries at level 0.50 – 0.60 (0.12-0.14 euro)/kg are catastrophic for fruit farmers. This year is the consecutive year when production of sour cherries is unprofitable.
