Moscow: prices of bananas and citruses In the first half of last week in Moscow prices of bananas from Ecuador decreased from 40-44 (1.05-1.15 euro) up to 37-39 rubles (0.97-1.02 euro) per kg. Recall that last week there was a sudden rise in the cost of the product.

Prices of fruit in Moscow In Moscow by mid last week unexpectedly raised the price of mango from Brazil. Market participants attributed this trend to the deteriorating quality of the product. It grew from an average of 105-110 (2,76-2,89 euros) to 115-120 rubles (3,02-3,15 euros) per kg.

Prices of some citruses imported form Spain again increased. In last days the biggest increase was noted for mandarins. Their price grew by 15 % and at the moment it is 75 PLN (18.20 €)/10 kg.

Import of juices According to forecasts of IERiGŻ-PIB in season 2008/2009 import of concentrated juices and juices will reduce to 85 thousand t i.e. it will be by about 34 thousand t lower than in the previous season.

Higher import of southern fruit

According to the newest forecasts of IERiGŻ-PIB much higher import of almost all southern fruit is expected in season 2008/2009 (mainly citrus fruit, kiwi fruit, watermelon and grapes).

Prices of these fruits will be lower than in the previous season. Import of bananas, peaches and nectarines will also grow but their prices will be similar to those ones of the previous season.
