Agricultural group T. Mularski is to develop Europe's largest greenhouse for tomato production. Polish horticultural company T. Mularski has revealed that it is to develop Europe's largest greenhouse facility for tomato growing, located close to the City of Opole in the south-west region of the country.

Imported tomatoes still have to compete with domestic ones. Prices of imported tomatoes do not differ much from the price of Polish tomatoes.

The supply of Polish greenhouse tomatoes is still decreasing and on the contrary the supply of imported tomatoes is bigger every day. However imported tomatoes are by at least 3 - 5 PLN/6 kg more expensive than Polish ones.

The supply of domestic tomatoes is still decreasing but prices remain rather stable. Some producers have already finished the season and they are selling the last tomatoes.

This year’s season for Polish greenhouse tomatoes is almost finished. First imported tomatoes appeared on the market.

Second week of November did not bring considerable changes in prices of domestic tomatoes. On Monday, November 9, the price of good quality tomatoes B size was 14-16 PLN (3.32-3.79 euro)/6 kg.

Season of domestic tomatoes is ending. Importers predict that in one week or two they can start trading in imported tomatoes.

At the beginning of November one can observe the further upward trend in prices of domestic tomatoes. Tomatoes of good quality, well coloured become more and more expensive due to their low supply.

On Monday, November 2, the price of such tomatoes of B size was 16 PLN (3.76 euro)/6 kg and tomatoes BB – even to 20 PLN (4.70 euro)/6 kg.

Tomato prices much differ due to quality. The supply of tomatoes of good quality is low so their prices are high. On Thursday, October 29, the price of such tomatoes size BB was 16 - 17 PLN (3.76-4.00 euro)/carton 6 kg.

At the end of last week one could observe the slight decrease in prices of greenhouse tomatoes. On Friday, October 23 the price of B size tomatoes was 2.42 PLN (0.58 euro)/kg and the price of BB tomatoes was 2.67 PLN (0.64 euro)/kg.

The beginning of the consecutive week of October didn’t bring rapid changes in prices of tomatoes. The prices of tomatoes of B and BB sizes slightly decreased as it was expected at the end of last week.

The price 25 PLN (5.90 euro)/box for BB tomatoes it too much for domestic market. In resulted in price decrease on Thursday, October 8.

We have already informed about upward trend in prices of tomatoes.

At the beginning of the week prices of tomatoes increased again. On Friday, October 3 the price of B tomatoes was to 17 PLN (4.00 euro)/carton 6 kg. On Monday, October 5 the price was 18 PLN (4.23 euro)/box.

Prices of tomatoes didn’t stopped at the level 14 - 16 PLN (3.29-3.76 euro)/6kg carton. Prices were increasing until Friday. One can observe a clear decline in the supply of tomatoes. It was not surprising that the prices of tomatoes changed every day.

At the moment the supply of tomatoes is lower due to worsening weather and their prices are going up.

Although changes in the prices of tomatoes are not big, they are very frequent. These prices change several times a week.

The beginning of the week brought the further increase in the price of tomatoes. This time, the price of tomatoes BB size increased more than the price of B tomatoes.

Prices of greenhouse tomatoes are similar in the whole country. On Wednesday, September 9 the price of tomatoes B size, which are in big demand, was from 10 to 12 PLN (2.43-2.92 euro)/carton 6 kg.

Currently B size tomatoes are in bigger demand from domestic as well as foreign recipients than BB or BBB sizes tomatoes. As a result the price of B ones was growing faster.

On Wednesday, September 2 the prices of greenhouse tomatoes considerably dropped. Prices of tomatoes B size were from 7.50 PLN (1.83 euro)/carton of 6 kg and prices of BB tomatoes - from 8 PLN (1.95 euro)/carton.

The supply of tomatoes on the domestic market is bigger again and as a result the prices of tomatoes decreased.

Processing plants have already started the purchase of tomatoes. Last week price of tomatoes for juice concentrate was about 0.35 PLN/kg, while last year it was by 0,02 PLN/kg less.

Price of B tomatoes increased already to 13 – 14 PLN (3.17-3.41 euro)/carton of 6 kg and price of BB tomatoes to 15 – 16 PLN (3.66-3.90 euro)/carton.

On Monday, August 17 the prices of tomatoes slightly decreased to the previous levels. Price of B tomatoes was 10-11 PLN (2.38-2.62 euro)/carton of 6 kg and the price of BB tomatoes was 12 PLN (2.86 euro)/carton.

Last week the decrease in supply of tomatoes caused increase in their prices, especially in the south of Poland.

We already informed that small supply of tomatoes caused increase in their prices. However it turned that this growth wasn’t very big and although there is rather low supply of tomatoes, their prices probably won’t further increase.

An information from the end of last week about decrease in the supply of tomatoes was confirmed. There is less tomatoes on the market what resulted in their price increase.

Although on Thursday, August 6 prices of tomatoes were still low – from 9.00 PLN (2.17 euro)/carton of 6 kg for B tomatoes and from 11.00 PLN (2.66 euro)/carton for BB, one can already see that the prices will grow due to lower supply of tomatoes.
