Gala apples stand out this year in terms of demand and prices.

Unlike other varieties, perhaps apart from Golden Delicious, where there is also a lot of interest on the market, the interest in the Gala remains high. Practically most companies that try to trade in dessert apples buy Gala and, above all, striped sports of this variety.

Analyzing the current situation, lack of demand for fruit, huge oversupply on the market and prices below 0,07 EUR per kilogram, one can definitely state that the investment in planting Gala is an economically justified , especially this year. The prices of some sorts of Gala are, on average, 4 times higher than the prices of apples of other  red varieties.

Exporters, for striped Gala sports in caliber 65+ pay at the moment from 0,23 to 0,28 EUR per kilogram. Some companies are looking for a striped Gala in a larger caliber 70+ or 75+ paying for them even up to 0,40 EUR per kilogram, but this is a rear situation. However, apples must be of very good quality - firm and well colored. There are companies buying the Gala (striped Gala sports) ready-made , and for a really good quality fruit - colored, thick (caliber at least 70+) you can get up to 0,47 EUR per kilogram.

Much lower prices are  for the Ordinary Gala or Must Gala. Here prices for apples in caliber 65+ range from 0.14 to 0.16 EUR per kilogram. The larger Gala 70+ is bought up to 0.23 EUR per kilogram, and exporters are looking for well colored fruit.
