Will Golden Delicious be more expensive?

Some varieties went up in prices even at 0.30 PLN/ kg. The demand also increased and it caused the improvement of moods among orchardist’s who still have some apples in storages.

However the demand and rising prices don’t concern every variety. There is still low demand for Golden Delicious and Mutsu. The purchase prices are also low but it can’t be said that they didn’t move. They increased but not as much as prices of other varieties.

The biggest demand is for red apples, especially for Idared. Apples of variety Gala has also been popular recently. We have problems with selling Golden Delicious. There is the demand but Russian purchasers don’t want to hear about higher prices. What is more, they are capricious about the quality – says specialist from Mazowieckie province.

Despite problems exporters still buy apples of variety Golden Delicious and Mutsuat following prices: Golden Delicious in size 70+ - 1.70 – 1.90 PLN/ kg, Mutsu in size 75+ - 1.60 – 1.80 PLN/kg.

The season for Golden Delicious in Poland is coming to the end. Low demand, and Italian apples don’t allow to trade intensively. Exporters claim that the purchase prices of Golden Delicious won’t increase and the demand will decrease. So it is a good idea to sell it now and not worry what will happen tomorrow
