Bigger production of mushrooms

According to the latest forecasts IERiGŻ in 2008 there is an upward trend in the production of mushrooms and the production is expected to amount to 210 thousand ton i.e. by about 2.5 % higher than in 2007.

The average purchase prices of mushrooms are expected to increase from 0.97 euro/kg in 2007 to 1.02 – 1.04 euro/kg in 2008. However at the moment there is a downward trend in purchase prices of mushrooms which are lower by about 0.10 euro/kg than in the corresponding period last year. The lowest purchase prices of mushrooms are in podlaskie and podkarpackie provinces (about 1.02 euro/kg for mushrooms 1st class, size 4 - 6 cm, in plastic boxes of 3 kg).
