Recent weeks have brought a significant increase in the supply of broccoli on the Polish market.

The second half of October finally brought a rash of broccoli. The situation on the wholesale market of these vegetables resembles that on the cauliflower market. An increase in supply combined with a weakening of interest of buyers led to a dynamic price reduction.

At the same time, the drop in demand for broccoli is mainly a problem of the fresh market. The buying campaign for processing continues at its best, and may even intensify, as previously there were fewer products, while now availability has increased, and prices are starting to fall (apart from contracts, of course).

Current prices in a large wholesale are 0,28 - 0,42 EUR/piece. (for broccoli in packaging). And from 14 October to the present day, the average sales price of broccoli fell from 0,60 EUR/piece to 0,35 EUR/piece, i.e. by as much as 42 per cent. A lot, but still it remains higher than a year ago, which can be seen in our chart below.
