Poland: lower price of red cabbage

At the beginning of September the average price of red cabbage was at the stable level 0.56 EUR/kg. Currently it is two times less - 0.26 EUR/kg.

Despite this, it can be noticed that the price remains stable in comparison to two previous seasons. In last two years prices were very low from the very beginning of season. In 2012 the average price fluctuated in range 0.10 - 0.14 EUR/ kg, in 2011 between 0.07 - 0.10 EUR/kg.

Currently wholesale prices of red cabbage are between 0.23 - 0.28 EUR/kg. Purchase price starts from 0.19 EUR/kg.

Lower prices are caused by high volume of product on the market on one hand and low demand on the other.
