Russian vegetable import

In 2012 Russia imported 2.097 mln tones of fresh vegetables. In 2011 it was 2.397 mln tones and in 2010 2.225 mln tones.

The most popular imported vegetables remain tomatoes of which Russia imported 800 thousand tones. Second place belongs to onion with 230 thousand tones. Third - cucumbers with 214 thousand tones. Carrot with 200 thoisand tones is fourth in the row.

The main supplier of vegetables to Russia is still Turkey. They export mainly tomatoes (492 thousand tones last year). China - second biggest supplier - had exported 305 thousand tones. Poland is on the fourth place in this rank with 178 thousand tones of imported vegetables.
