Polish market overview 28.11-4.12.2011

The average wholesale price of carrot, Chinese cabbage, white cabbage and potatoes remained stable. Prices of carrot was 0.45 PLN (0.10 euro)/kg for brushed product and 0.30-0.40 PLN (0.067-0.089 euro)/kg for washed product. The average selling price of Chinese cabbage was 0.90 PLN (0.20 euro)/kg and producer price was 0.50-0.60 PLN (0.11-0.13 euro)/kg. Price of white cabbage was 0.19 PLN (0.042 euro)/kg and price of potatoes – 0.24 PLN (0.053 euro)/kg.
Season for Polish tomatoes is generally finished, however in retail chains there are quite big quantities of this product but of poor quality. Price of tomatoes imported from Spain was 25-28 PLN (5.59-6.26 euro)/6 kg (size B) and 32-33 PLN (7.16-7.38 euro)/6 kg for size BB.
In 48 week price of bananas imported form Ecuador (e.g. Bonita or Favorita) decreased by about 4 % to 55-62 PLN (12.30-13.87 euro)/box. Prices of bananas Chiquita and Dole remained stable - 66-72 PLN (14.76-16.11 euro)/box. 
Prices of mandarins decreased and were following: 34-36 PLN (7.61-8.05 euro)/10 kg for size 4, 35-38 PLN (7.83-8.50 euro)/10 kg for size 3 and 38-40 PLN (8.50-8.95 euro)/10 kg for size 2. 
Prices of Spanish oranges and lemons were 37-44 PLN (8.28-9.84 euro)/10 kg and 31-35 PLN (6.93-7.83 euro)/10 kg adequately. Turkish lemons were sold at 33-38 PLN (7.38-8.50 euro)/10 kg. 
Producers prices of apples (Shampion, Jonagold, Gloster, Alwa, Elise) were following:  0.85 – 0.90 PLN (0.19-0.20 euro)/kg for 60+/65+, 0.95-1.00 PLN (0.21-0.22 euro)/kg for 70+, 1.00-1.20 PLN (0.22-0.27 euro)/kg for 80+. Price of Idared was 0.95-1.10 PLN (0.21-0.25 euro)/kg for 70+.
