Broccoli imported from Italy and Spain are available currently on Polish market. Italian broccoli are much more in demand, also because of their lower price.

Broccoli imported from Italy appeared on the Polish market.

This is the end of this year’s harvest of cauliflower and broccoli. Their supply is decreasing every day what results in rising prices.

On Friday, November 6, the purchase price was from 1.40 PLN (0.33 euro)/pcs for cauliflower and 1.30 PLN (0.31 euro)/pcs for broccoli. On the wholesale markets prices of broccoli exceed 2.00 PLN (0.47 euro)/pcs and even 3.00 PLN (0.71 euro)/pcs

The average purchase price of broccoli intended for export rose to about 1.10 PLN (0.26 euro)/pcs. The lowest prices are in łódzkie province (about 1 PLN (0.24 euro)/pcs.), and the highest in the mazowieckie province (1.10-1.20 PLN (0.26-0.28 euro)/pcs.).

The end of the week brought the decrease in prices of cauliflowers and broccoli in the central and southern Poland.

On the market one can observe lower supply of broccoli and as a result their prices are still growing.

At the end of last week prices of broccoli and cauliflowers dropped as a result of high supply of these vegetables due to rainy and warm weather.

Despite the cold weather, the first small quantities of domestic broccoli appeared on the market. So far one can buy broccoli in the southern Poland, where the harvest started first.

Polish broccoli will appear on the market soon. As regards the imported ones their prices remain stable. On Friday, May 15 the prices of broccoli imported from Spain were from 22 to 25 PLN (4.91-5.58 euro)/10 pcs.

The price of broccoli imported from Spain is stable at low level. On Thursday, May 7 the price of broccoli was 22 - 26 PLN (5.07-6.00 euro)/10 pcs.

Polish broccoli are expected on the market in a few days - at first broccoli from south of Poland. Meanwhile one can observe strong downward trend in prices of broccoli imported from Spain.

The price of Spanish broccoli was the highest before the Easter and just after the Easter. It was even 60 PLN (13.95 euro)/10 pcs.

The prices of most imported vegetables decreased before Easter. However the prices of broccoli are an exception and they are remained at high level.

Lower supply of imported broccoli on the Polish market resulted in considerable increase in their prices.

On Thursday, 5 March, on the wholesale market in Bronisze the price of imported broccoli was 34 PLN (7.23 euro)/10pcs.

The price of broccoli imported from Spain has a downward trend. On Tuesday, 10 February price of broccoli was from 25 to 32 PLN (5.58-7.14 euro) for box of 10 pieces and was lower than last week.

In the winter the Polish market of broccoli is dominated by Spanish ones. For a few weeks one can observe an upward trend in prices of these vegetables.

As we already informed there are large amounts of broccoli on the wholesale markets. High temperature in October supported the growth of these vegetables.

In małopolskie province in export companies the purchase price of broccoli is 0.44 – 0.50 euro/piece (500 g, packed into the box of 10 pieces).

October weather is favourable for broccoli, similarly like for cauliflowers. There are increased supply of broccoli on the market and it of course results in their prices.

In mazowieckie province the purchase price of broccoli (packed in 6 pieces boxes) intended for export is 0.57 EUR/piece.

The cold nights are delaying the height of broccoli what results in lower supply of broccoli on the market. The purchase prices of broccoli are rising.
