Apples: increasing export to the East

More and more Polish apples are exporting to the eastern countries. One can see the great demand from Ukrainian importers.

The additional hope for increase in export is lifting the ban on export to Russia. However at the moment the prices are low and the average price is 0.18 euro/kg for apples 70+ with the packaging. The fruit growers can obtain higher price for Golden Delicious which is very popular in this season. Price of this variety is 0.26 – 0.34 euro/kg. One should expect the rise in the export of Idared which is the most popular variety in the east.
