Bigger demand for mandarins from Turkey

Together with the end of harvests of Spanish mandarins, the demand for Turkish Minneola is increasing. The import of Turkish mandarins constantly grows.

The experts predict that till the end of February 2009 the volume of imported Minneola will amount to 3 - 4 thousand t. At the moment on the wholesale markets prices of mandarins in 10 kg boxes are as follows: in Lublin 4.10 PLN (0.92 euro)/kg, in Elbląg 4.40 PLN (1.00 euro)/kg and in Łódź 4.50 PLN (1.01 euro)/kg. Price forecast for Minneola from Turkey in February: 3.60 – 3.80 PLN (0.81-0.85 euro)/kg.
