Bigger production of elderberries

In surroundings of Białystok the elderberries were planted on big areas about 150 ha. Elderberries are also planted in the north of Poland.

Elderberries are intended mainly for export to Great Britain and Germany. The elderberries are used as a component of deep-frozen fruit mixes and often replace the blackcurrants. This year purchase prices of elderberries delivered to the plant are about 0.32 – 0.35 EUR/kg. Austria is the biggest European producer of elderberries.
