Bigger production of walnuts

According to the Central Statistic Office (GUS) the area of the cultivation of walnuts in Poland has doubled this year.

The production of walnuts in 2007 amounted to 6 thousand ton. This year harvests of walnuts increased but GUS has not announced the final volumes yet. For comparison this year’s production of walnuts in Turkey, the leading producer, is assessed at 85-90 thousand ton.
