Butter beans more expensive than ‘French’ beans

The butter beans (lima beans) is more and more popular on the fresh market as well as of raw material for processing. Purchase prices of butter beans are higher than prices of French beans.

On the wholesale market in Rzeszów butter beans is sold in 2 kg bags at price 1.25 EUR/kg, while ‘French’ beans at price 0.75 – 0.81 EUR/kg. However production costs of butter beans are much higher than of ‘French’ beans, especially because of high price of seeds.
