Domestic sweet peppers: in 2008 bigger supply and lower prices?

In years 2005-2007 value of export of fresh and processed sweet peppers increased from 2.6 million EUR to 10.5 mln EUR. According to forecast prepared by ZEO IERiGŻ-PIB in 2008 value of export may reach even 12 mln EUR.

However prices of sweet peppers obtained by producers will probably decrease as a result of bigger supply. Last year purchase price of red sweet peppers was about 1.00 EUR/kg and this year forecast is 0.94 EUR/kg.
