End of supply of domestic leeks

This season the supply of domestic leeks is already very low and their quality is rather poor. On the market imported leeks are mostly available.
On Friday, February 12 the wholesale price of domestic leeks was 2.50 – 3.00 PLN (0.62-0.75 €)/kg. Imported leeks are usually delivered from Belgian Flanders and from France (Brittany and Normandy). On Friday, the price of imported leeks was 3.50 – 4.50 PLN (0.87-1.12 €)/kg depending on the quality.
However, in the second half of February, when imported leeks will dominate on our market one can expect the increase in prices of these vegetables.
