Export of Polish sour cherries

In years 2005-2009, export of Polish sour cherries was the highest in 2008, when export of fresh sour cherries (dessert and for further processing) amounted to 23,6 thousand t and export of frozen sour cherries amounted to 63 thousand t. The value of exported frozen sour cherries was the highest in 2005 – 54.3 million euro.  

The most important importer of Polish fresh sour cherries is Russia, which in 2009 bought 62 percent of this product. In the case of frozen sour cherries, UE-15 countries are the biggest recipient (in 2009 approximately 67 % of total export), and among them, Germany (38 %).
