Export to Russia still difficult

In spite of lifting the ban on the import of Polish plant products to Russia, the export to Russian market is still difficult.

Russian phytosanitary requirements are more restrictive than UE ones. Moreover the export procedure are surrounded by red tape and Polish official control bodies have too few employees in order to support correctly the export companies. That’s why a lot of Polish apples are still delivered to Russian market via other countries. At present the most Polish apples are exported to Ukraine and from there to Russia.
