First currants of the season

First red and black currants appeared in purchasing centres. In podkarpackie province purchase price of red currants in some processing plants was 0.42 – 0.48 EUR/kg. In central Poland price of black currants delivered to the plant was 0.54 – 0.57 EUR/kg.

Probably prices will increase because there is shortage of deep-frozen currants of previous season. In 2007 average price of red currants for processing was 0.48 EUR/kg and price of black currants for processing was 0.52 EUR/kg.
