Flood of tomatoes after Easter?
It seems that after Easter the amount of Polish tomatoes will increase significantly. One of producers from mazowieckie province says “Today we have few pallets but in two weeks it will be two trucks” .
Obviously the weather has big influence on the situation, however even cool spring cannot stop it. We can say for sure that prices of tomatoes will decrease. It has also advantages. Lower prices will encourage consumers to buy domestic products, especially when Polish tomatoes will be available in retail chains. Low prices and sufficient amount of products will also drive an export.
Current prices of Polish tomatoes were stable recently. Good quality tomatoes size B cost 50.00 – 55.00 PLN/ 6 kg / carton, BB – 60.00 -65.00 PLN/ 6 kg carton.
