High demand for pears

In the area of Grójec price of pears (variety Faworytka, 1st class, in boxes of 20 kg) intended for export to the eastern countries is 0.66 – 0.75 EUR/kg.

The demand for pears is high, but supplies are still too small. In Ukraine (as a result of the flood) and on Belarus (as a result of spring frost) a demand for pears increased. Exporters are preparing supplies to the East and an export to the Czech Republic and Slovakia also started. Large amounts of pears for the export are expected in the end of August and at the beginning of September.
