Higher demand for cultivated mushrooms

During summer time production of cultivated mushrooms is limited, mainly by small producers who do not have equipment to lower the temperature. Additionally in summer months there are more problems with diseases and pests.

Trade companies are interested in cultivated mushrooms because in Poland it is a time of many popular name days and demand for cultivated mushrooms increases. In małopolskie province purchase price of mushrooms (Extra class, 4 kg boxes) increased to about 1.64 – 1.70 EUR/kg and was higher by 0.30 EUR/kg than last week Traders expect further increase of prices.
