Higher production of chokeberries?

This year the production of chokeberries was much less profitable compared with the previous year. Purchase prices of chokeberries delivered to plants decreased to 0.15 - 0.21 EUR/kg (last year 0.98 – 1.05 EUR/kg).

In 2006 - 2007 the production of chokeberries was about 40-45 thousand tons. The rise in the production for 10-15 thousand tons above 45-50 thousand tons already causes the price crisis on the market of these fruit. In the future one predicts the growth of demand for chokeberries thanks to interest from many countries e.g. of S. Korea and thanks to the promotion of fruit.
