Hypermarkets exploit the situation of fruit and vegetables overproduction

Thanks to the favourable weather in this season, on the market there are a lot of domestic root vegetables and brassica.

The supply is so big that suppliers have problems with selling. The retail chains are trying to exploit the favourable situation and sharpen quality requirements for supplied products. Chinese cabbages can be an example. This year there are a lot of Chinese cabbages and their head are rather big. However hypermarkets are demanding smaller heads of 1 kg, maximum to 1.5 kg.
