Import of cucumbers in 2005-2009

According to Polish Analytical Center of Customs Administration import of cucumbers in years 2005-2008 incresed from 16.3 thousand t to 46.7 thousand t). In 2009 import slighlty decreased to 44.7 thousand t. Import value in 2005 amounted to 13.2 mln euro and in 2008 increased to 33.9 mln euro. In 2009 value of imported cucumbers fell by 4 % to 32.4 mln euro. According to preliminary data on import in first six months of 2010 import of cucumbers amounted to 17.2 thousand t and was lower by 14 % than in the same period in 2009.  

Spain (45 %) and Holland (13 %) were main suppliers of cucumbers to Polish market in 2009.
