Import of fresh fruit and vegetables

In the period January-September 2008 import of fresh fruit amounted to 817.8 thousand t against 896.7 thousand t in 2007.

A total value of purchased fruit was 664.8 million euro against 589.5 million euro last year. In the same period Poland imported 277.8 thousand t of fresh vegetables against 250.0 thousand t last year. The value of imported vegetables was 195.1 million euro. Moreover Poland bought 80.6 thousand t of potatoes at value 27.6 million euro.
