Import of watermelons decreased

According to preliminary data of CAAC Poland bought nearly 1 thousand tons of watermelons at value of 600 thousand EUR in first quarter of 2008. In the same period of last year import of this fruit was higher at the level of 1,1 thousand tons valued 702 thousand EUR.

At wholesale market in Bronisze prices of watermelons are 0,82 – 1,03 EUR/kg, 0,85 – 0,94 EUR/kg in Poznań and 1 – 1,06 EUR/kg in Białystok.
