Imported strawberries in lower prices

More and more companies decide to import strawberries and offer them in lower prices. Most fruits that are being sold in Poland are imported from Spain. However importers offer also fruits from Greece.

The high supply influences prices which slightly decreased last week.

Spanish strawberries sold in 2 kg packages became cheaper at about 18 per cent and currently cost from 18.00 to 23.00 PLN/ 2 kg (9.00 – 11.50 PLN/ kg). First grade strawberries packed in 1 kg boxes fell in price at 8 per cent and cost from 15.00 to 18.00 PLN/ kg.

Spanish strawberries in 250 g packaging have been sold at stable price 56.00 – 60.00 PLN for 16 pieces (3.50 – 3.75 PLN/ piece). Fruits in 4 kg boxes (loose) became cheaper at 11 per cent and cost 40.00 – 45.00 PLN/ 4 kg.

Prices of strawberries imported from Greece remain stable. Currently they are offered from 55.00 to 62.00 PLN/ 5 kg.
