Increase in import of vegetables

As we have already informed the export of fresh vegetables decreased in August compared with August of last year.

On the other hand according to the newest CAAC data (Analytical Centre of Customs Administration) the import of fresh vegetables increased by about 30 percent compared with August of last year. In August of this year 5.7 thousand t of fresh vegetables was imported at value 2 million euro. In spite of bigger volumes the value of import reduced by 10 percent, probably because of the bigger import of cheaper vegetables such as onion, cucumbers and garlic which volumes amounted to 2.6 thousand t 1.3 thousand t and 700 ton appropriately.
