Increase in prices of domestic vegetables in Moscow

On the Moscow vegetable market in the second half of the last week experts noted further increase in prices of domestic vegetables. The reason for rising prices is the shortage of many vegetables due to poor crops caused by very dry and hot summer in Russia. Supply of imported products on the market was also quite limited because of transportation and other problems.

In general, the price of carrots increased from 20-22 rubles (0.49-0.54 euros) to 21-23 rubles (0.52-0.56 euros) per kg of potatoes - from 19-21 rubles (0.47 – 0.52 euros) to 23-25 rubles (0.56-0.61 euros) per kg, red beets - from 14-16 rubles (0.34-0.39 euros) to 15-18 rubles (0.37 -0.44 euros) per kg.
