Increasing prices of imported tomatoes

The price of tomatoes imported from Spain is growing. On Wednesday, 17th December price of GG tomatoes was 9.07 – 9.31 euro/box of 6 kg and was higher than the price from the beginning of week (8.09 euro/box), when there were a lot of tomatoes on the market and traders had to keep low prices in order to sell stocks.

At the moment the supply is smaller because tomatoes from new orders hasn’t come to Poland yet. Moreover a rise in prices is accompanied by weakening of Polish currency and increasing transport costs.
