Low quality of fruit – low competitiveness

On the Polish market a share of domestic fruit of the low-quality is still too high. One can assessed that 500-600 thousand ton of fruit, i.e. only 16-19 % of total amount of fruit meet the high market requirements.

Certainly it is too little so that the Polish fruit production would be competitive, particularly as concerns the same products available on UE-15 markets. The improvement in the quality of fruit in Poland has been progressing mainly as regards apples and strawberries.
