More apples in The Czech Republic

Forecasts of apples harvests in the Czech Republic shows the rise in the production of apples by 27 % in 2008. The apples crops are estimated at 144 thousand ton.

Rise in harvests is a result of quite good weather conditions this year. The Czech Republic imports more and more apples from Poland. In 2007 import from Poland amounted to 20 thousand ton i.e. by 40 % more than in 2000.
