Peaches production decrease

Area of peaches orchards in Poland slightly increased in 2007 in relation to 2006 and was 3,3 thousand hectares. However crop of peaches was lower by 35 % in comparison with previous season and amounted to 3,6 thousand tons, yield decreased by 40 % to 10.9 t/ha.

It was a result of spring ground frost which appeared during florescence period. It is needed to mention that in 2004 peaches production reached even 14.3 thousand tons.
