Plums: higher crops in 2008?

In 2008 crops of plums can reach 110 thousand tons i.e. over twice more than in 2007 (53.5 thousand tons). Last year spring frost resulted in low crops. This year production level may be the highest during last five years.

According to forecast prepared by ZEO IERiGŻ-PIB purchase price of plums intended for direct consumption will decrease twice (to 0.39 EUR/kg) in comparison with price of last year and purchase price of plums for processing may decrease to 0.18 EUR/kg.
