Plums - production profitability

Production cost calculation conducted by Horticultural Economics Department of IAFE-NRI (ZEO-IERiGŻ-PIB) shows that domestic production of plums was profitable in years 2005 and 2007 and unprofitable in years 2004 and 2006.

Index of production profitability (producer price / total cost of production x 100%) in years 2004 – 2007 ranged from 81 % (2006) to 153 % (2005). The highest index 153 % - showing that prices obtained were higher than total production cost by 53 % - was reached in 2005. In 2007 purchase price was higher by 4 % than production cost.
