Poland: early cabbage - good quality, low demand

Producers of early cabbage have the reason for the worry, because at the moment the demand for the cabbage is much smaller than in corresponding periods of previous years.

Although the quality of cabbage is good and its prices are decreasing, sales of cabbage is at level 30 % of last year’s sales. On Wednesday, May 13 in mazowieckie province, the wholesale price of early cabbage was about 2.20 PLN (0.50 euro)/pcs. Low demand for early cabbage can be a result of strong competition from still big supply of very cheap last year’s cabbage.
