Poland: expected increase in prices of cauliflowers and broccoli

Worsening weather probably will affect the prices of cauliflowers and broccoli. In the next days one can expect the increase in their prices.

So far in provinces: mazowieckie, łódzkie and małopolskie the supply of these vegetables is high and prices of cauliflowers start from 1.20 PLN (0.28 euro)/pcs. and prices of broccoli from 1.00 PLN (0.23 euro)/pcs. (price of cartons included). However prices of the best quality cauliflowers intended for export are much higher – even 1.90 PLN (0.45 euro)/pcs.). In lubelskie province, where bumper crops started earlier than in other provinces, one can already observe decrease in supply of these vegetables and prices are higher there. On Friday, October 2, in the area of Zamość the price of cauliflowers in cartons was 1.50 PLN (0.35 euro)/pcs. and the price of broccoli was 1.40 PLN (0.33 euro)/pcs.
