Poland: export of carrot twice higher in 2008

We have recently written about bigger by about 40 % import of carrot to Poland. However the growth of export was even greater.

According to preliminary data of Analytical Centre of Customs Administration (CAAC) export of carrot in 2008 amounted to 43 thousand t and its value 7.3 million euro. It shows that the volume of export in 2008 was by 90 % higher than in 2007 (22.6 thousand t) and its value was twice higher (3.6 million euro in 2007). Moldova with 13.3 thousand t of carrots at value 1.1 million euro as well as Ukraine with 13.2 thousand t of carrot at value 1.9 million euro are in a leading position among countries importing the carrot from Poland.
