Poland: high prices of domestic cauliflowers

The purchase prices of domestic cauliflowers which already appeared on the market are much higher than last year’s prices. This week in podkarpackie provinces the purchase price of cauliflowers was 2.80 - 4.00 PLN (0.63-0.90 euro)/pcs.

In surroundings of Nowy Sącz the price was 3.30 PLN (0.74 euro)/pcs., and the highest price was in podlaskie province – about 4.40 PLN (1.00 euro)/pcs. Last year the average purchase price of cauliflowers was about 2.20 PLN (0.49 euro)/pcs. According to seed companies the cultivation area of cauliflowers decreased by about 15 % due to low production profitability of these vegetables last year.
