Poland: in January lower export of cucumbers

According to data of the Analytical Centre of Customs Administration in January 2009 export volume of fresh vegetables decreased by 40 % to 23.4 thousand t and its value by 44 % to 7.5 million euro as compared to the same period of 2008.

Cucumbers are amongst vegetables of which the export much lowered. In January 2009 the export of cucumbers amounted to 70 t at value 83 thousand euro, while in 2008 it was three times more (208 t) at value twice higher (194 thousand euro). Cucumbers were exported mainly to Latvia, Ukraine and Russia.
