Poland: increase in apples export to Ukraine
Exports of apples is increasing. From 1 December, after decrease in customs duty, more apples are exported to Ukraine. Bigger export to Russia should start from 1 January, when customs duty are also lower in Russia.
However, prices of apples remained stable at the low level. The producer price for apples 70 + is 0.45 – 0.50 PLN (0.11-0.12 euro)/kg. The demand is mainly for Shampion and Jonagored. Price of Idared, 70 + is also 0.50 PLN (0.12 euro)/kg. Prices of apples 80 + are from 0.60 (0.15 euro)/ kg.
Many fruit growers do not sell apples waiting for better prices, but the supply of apples is high so it isn’t difficult to buy apples. All prices do not include the cost of packaging.
