Poland: increase in prices of broccoli and cauliflowers

This is the end of this year’s harvest of cauliflower and broccoli. Their supply is decreasing every day what results in rising prices.

On Friday, November 6, the purchase price was from 1.40 PLN (0.33 euro)/pcs for cauliflower and 1.30 PLN (0.31 euro)/pcs for broccoli. On the wholesale markets prices of broccoli exceed 2.00 PLN (0.47 euro)/pcs and even 3.00 PLN (0.71 euro)/pcs for cauliflower. Temperatures below 0° C at night, which adversely affected the quality of vegetables remaining in the fields, also contributed to the increase in prices.
