Poland: lower export of vegetables

In February and January 2009 the export of fresh vegetables was lower than in the same months 2008. According to preliminary data of Analytical Centre of Customs Administration (CAAC) in February 2009 Poland exported 21 thousand tons of fresh vegetables at value 7.2 million euro.

Compared to February 2008 the volume of export reduced by about 60 % and its value by 50 %. As regards processed vegetables, their export also decreased and amounted to 39.1 thousand t i.e. by about 22 % less than in February 2008. The value of this export was 26 million euro and was lower by about 12 % than last year.
