Poland: no changes in apples market

So far prices of apples remains low. The purchase prices of apples intended for export start from 0.35 PLN (0.083 euro)/kg, but hardly anyone wants to sell their apples for this price.

On average, apples are purchased at 0.50 - 0.60 PLN (0.12-0.14 euro)/kg depending on quality, variety and region of Poland. As a result the final price of sized apples in cardboard boxes is 0.80 - 0.90 PLN (0.19-0.21 euro)/kg. The bigger export of apples is expected at the beginning of next year, when Russia reduce tariffs on imported apples. It seems that this year, Polish apples will have to strong compete in the Russian market with cheaper than last year apples from western Europe.
