Poland: prices of celeriac

In mazowieckie province the purchase price of washed celeriac intended for export is 1.50-1.60 PLN (0.36-0.39 euro)/kg. the purchase price of celeriac for domestic retail market are similar - 1.50 PLN (0.36 euro)/kg in podkarpacke province and 1.70-1.80 PLN (0.41-0.44 euro)/kg in mazowieckie, podlaskie and łódzkie provinces.

At the moment the average prices of celeriac are lower by 0.50 - 0.60 PLN (0.12-0.14 euro)/kg than last year. Processing plants haven’t started the purchase yet. Last year the purchase season for industrial celeriac started at the beginning of October and then the price was 0.60 - 0.70 PLN (0.14-0.17 euro)/kg. In current season 2009/2010 the purchase price of celeriac for processing is forecasted at then level 0.50-0.60 PLN (0.12-0.14 euro)/kg.
