Poland: the end of domestic sweet peppers

The harvest of sweet pepper in mazowieckie province probably will finish during one week. In the big production area of sweet pepper near Przytyk the supply of pepper is lower but prices are stable.

On Tuesday, October 13 the price of red peppers packed in 5 kg boxes was 2.80 PLN (0.66 euro)/kg, the price of green pepper was 2.00 PLN (0.47 euro)/kg. These prices are slightly lower than in the corresponding period of last year when the price of red peppers was about 3.20 PLN (0.76 euro)/kg). It is not caused by higher supply of domestic pepper but the import of relatively cheap peppers from the Netherlands.
